Vox Sola -Latin word meaning lone voice

Kenny Hickson(Drums) originates from the land of the long white cloud, playing and touring the north island for a number of years in City clubs and the Hotel cuircuit around the country. 30 years ago he came to Sydneys shores to perssue a musical carreer in Australia, as there was only so far you could go in NZ in those days. The musical carreer branched out into the manufacture and installation of recording studios, so the musical band playing became 2nd fiddle until NOW.

Not wasting time over the last 10 years Kenny has been writing original material, and coming up with ideas, and collaborating with Michael Fronzek who is the keyboard player in the band, to create their own brand of instrumental groove music

Michael H.(Base) has been bluffing his way through many styles of music since way back and hates writing in the third person. Starting off in Adelaide he played rock, latin, jazz ( the bluffing helped here ) 70’s prog rock, experimental weird stuff and electro pop. In ’85, following an age old tradition, the band moved to Sydney and split up. While living in Crete for four and a half years he had the opportunity to write and record soundtracks for two short films. He was back in Sydney busy writing and recording at home when he was rudely interrupted by Kenneth wanting to put a band together. He immediately rang his friend Mac and the rest isn’t history yet.

Michael Fronzek(Keyboard) started his musical journey in he 3rd grade when an in-tune rendition of God Save the Queen got him a spot in the school band to learn and play Trombone.  At 12 he picked up the Melodica whilst on a family visit to Germany which quickly transitioned to the Organ back home in Sydney.  His first gigs at 14 with like minded school buddies led to a lifetime love of live music and music production.  Years of running and building studios led to Kenny and Mike working together on numerous projects.  Together they have been writing original material, some of which has made it's way into Vox Sola.
